In this, his 3rd full length album, MM returns to a deep well of inspiration that ostensibly has little to do with Alewife-infused tropicalia; delta fingerpicking style acoustic blues tunes by Skip James, Muddy Waters, Junior Kimbrough, Rev Gary Davis, Mississippi John Hurt, R L Burnside ... converted into a power trio format. If it was good enough for Hot Tuna in the early 70's, it's worth trying again. But, with entirely different tunes.
